Mozart’s string trio and careful technology
Three things worth reading and one question worth asking

Three things worth reading
I Was Born Deaf. I Feel Lucky.
By Eli Steele
“Life’s not fair and never will be. It’s up to you to make it work.”
Boom. I really don’t have more to add here, other than to say that it’s a story worth reading for its honesty and perspective.

Careful technology
By Simon Sarris
Simon Sarris unpacks the tension between the natural world and the technological world. Man vs. the machine as it were. Among other smart observations, he says:
“If people hate technology and think it clashes with nature, I find it hard to blame technology. We have careless technology because we are careless in evaluating it. We demand too little of it, or we are willing to sacrifice too much for too little in return.”
This is quintessential value economy. What we make should deliver value. If we decide to invest in something that isn’t all that valuable, we’re saying it’s worth whatever we invested in it.
I think we should ask for better.

‘Mozart dropped a new single’
By Kyle Macdonald
Ok, so the point of this isn’t the news story; it’s the song. If you click the link, you can learn more about a previously unknown piece by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and listen to it being performed in Leipzig, where the song was discovered.
For this, I have to break out the c-word: This is cool.
